NYMannings Scholarship program was initiated in 2004 by Peter Lau and Anne Kong, proprietors of Confucius/ Mannings Pharmacy. Their idea was give back to the community through sponsorships of youth in education and to propagate the seeds of CARE. To date, a total sum of $144,000 has been awarded to extraordinary high school students based on community involvements, financial needs and academic performance.


The 2017 NY Mannings Scholarship Award Ceremony took place on 8/12/2017 at Confucius Surgical Supplies (Flushing branch) on 36-22 Main Street. This is the 14th year of the scholarship program. 2 Recipients were chosen. Each recipient will receive a one time scholarship of $1,000 for use at accredited universities or college within the US.


2017 Scholars:

JiaYu Chen – Liberty High School Academy for Newcomers, to attend Bard College, majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics.


JiongCheng Lou – Queens High School for the Sciences at York College, to attend Case Western Reserve University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering.


Community members, summer interns from CPC program were invited to attend. The community members also come to the stage and share their experience with the youth kids. The nurturing of the CARING seeds in a NOBLE PATH for youths will continue to spread through the community. 


Confucius / Mannings Pharmacy believe that CARING will make the world a better place.  Everything starts at home and we hope by awarding the students today, we are setting a good example.  The Confucius/ Mannings CARING spirit flows: WE WILL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE and do things that are good and positive.
